About
Tim Beck is a bicoastal composer (NYC/LA) and a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has written several styles of music, including chamber, jazz, orchestral, electronic, pop/rock, and film scores. He has scored for several works including short films, commercials, documentaries, and four feature films. In 2012, Tim was selected as a winner for the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra Collegiate Composers for his piece, “Sustantivo,” a duet for piano and oboe. In 2013, Tim was selected as one of nine emerging film composers to attend the Composing for the Screen workshop in New York City, hosted by BMI and run by composer Rick Baitz. In 2015, Tim played guitar for the score of Jem and the Holograms, a Universal Pictures major motion picture.
In 2016, Tim’s original film score to the feature film On The Brain was nominated for Best Musical Score for a Feature Film at the Idyllwild International Festival for Cinema. In 2017, Tim began work on his first contemporary ballet The Governess, created by Bianca Crespo. In 2018, Tim composed music for the unique immersive horror show INVOKE, created by Santa Mira Pictures, which opened to sold out crowds upon its premiere in Los Angeles. In 2019, Tim worked on music to the follow up of INVOKE, an immersive show entitled BRUXA, in Philadelphia, PA.
