Our post production workflows support fast paced unscripted television, documentary, and branded content. Projects often involve large volumes of footage, multi camera formats, and tight delivery timelines.

We rely on team members who are highly organized, technically proficient, and capable of maintaining clean, efficient workflows across multiple projects.

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail oriented and technically skilled Assistant Editor to join our team as a full time staff member supporting unscripted television productions.

This role is responsible for managing media, preparing projects for editors, maintaining organized workflows, and ensuring that post production runs efficiently from ingest through delivery.

The Assistant Editor plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of footage, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting editors and producers in a fast paced environment.

This is a long term staff position intended for someone who wants to grow within post production and become a key contributor to the editorial team.

Experience working with high volume footage, multi camera workflows, and documentary or reality television is strongly valued.

Key Responsibilities
Media Management

Ingest & Organization
Offload, verify, and organize media using professional data management practices. Maintain clear folder structures and naming conventions across all projects.

Project Setup
Build and maintain project files, including bin organization, sequence templates, and standardized workflows for editors.

Transcoding & Proxy Workflows
Generate proxies and transcodes as needed, ensuring compatibility across editing systems and maintaining efficient playback performance.

Editorial Support

Editor Prep
Prepare timelines, string outs, and selects for editors based on producer notes and production materials.

Syncing & Grouping
Sync audio and video, manage multi camera groupings, and ensure accurate timecode alignment.

Exports & Deliverables
Handle exports for internal review, network delivery, and archival purposes, ensuring all specs are met.

Version Control
Maintain clear versioning of sequences, cuts, and deliverables to prevent errors and confusion.

Workflow & Systems

Data Integrity
Ensure all media is properly backed up, verified, and tracked across storage systems.

Storage Management
Manage project storage across drives, servers, or NAS systems, maintaining organization and accessibility.

Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to media, codecs, playback, or project files.

Collaboration

Production Coordination
Work closely with producers, editors, and field teams to ensure all footage and materials are properly tracked and accessible.

Notes Implementation
Assist with incorporating producer notes, making minor edits, and preparing updated versions for review.

Cross Department Communication
Coordinate with camera, DIT, and production teams to ensure proper handoff of media and metadata.

Post Operations

Archiving
Prepare and manage project archives, ensuring all media and project files are properly stored and documented.

Quality Control
Review exports for technical accuracy including audio levels, color consistency, and formatting requirements.

Workflow Optimization
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in post production workflows and systems.

Required Qualifications

Editing Software Proficiency
Strong experience with Adobe Premiere Pro. Familiarity with After Effects and DaVinci Resolve is a plus.

Post Production Experience
1-3 years of experience in post production is preferred, but not required.

Media Management Skills
Strong understanding of file structures, codecs, transcoding, and backup workflows.

Technical Knowledge
Familiarity with video formats, frame rates, color workflows, and audio synchronization.

Organization Skills
Ability to manage large volumes of media while maintaining clean and consistent workflows.

Problem Solving Ability
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi camera and reality television workflows
Familiarity with shared storage systems such as NAS or SAN environments
Experience with tools such as ShotPut Pro or similar offload software
Basic knowledge of color workflows and finishing processes
Understanding of delivery specifications for networks or streaming platforms
