Richmond Camera Operator
About
I am a cinematographer/editor operating in the Richmond, VA area. My experience includes shooting corporate interviews and events, live music and dance performances, short form narrative and documentary films. Clients range from small businesses to larger companies such as Seattle Opera, Amazon, Group Health, Microsoft, Century Link, University of Washington, Lexus and Napster Music. I frequently work assignments for production companies as a work-for-hire camera man and location audio recordist. I can work as a crew of one, or scale up with additional crew to accommodate larger projects.
My post production skills include video and audio editing, motion design, color grading, compositing and VFX. DaVinci Resolve Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge and Acrobat are my tools of choice for video post production and motion design.
I own and shoot on Panasonic EVA1, S1H and GH5 cameras (all shoot up to 4K resolution), support gear (tripods, monopod, slider, shoulder rig & gimbal) and professional lighting and audio gear. I also have experience shooting with Canon 5D, 7D, C100, SONY FS5, FS7, A7S and PXW-Z150, Nikon D750 and Panasonic DVX-200 cameras.

I've known David Patterson for more than a decade. He is one of the most pleasant and professional individuals I have had the pleasure to work with. His strengths include being detail-oriented and his expertise in both production and post-production. On location, you will be assured of achieving the necessary coverage. As an editor, Patterson is very efficient and the end results are superb. For context, we have worked on more then 30 corporate productions, numerous documentaries and several narrative films. Beyond that, I consider him a good friend. He won't let you down.
