Austin Gaffer
About
Hello,
My name is Daniel Leonard. I work mainly as a Grip/Gaffer in Austin, TX (although I can work locally throughout Texas). I have a strong work ethic and learn the ropes of each production quickly. I’m reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to get the job done. Being on set is where I love to be. I can’t picture myself doing anything else. I also have some gear that I will list below. If you end up needing G&E for any future projects, I’d love to throw my hat in the ring.
Grip & Electric Experience:
I have plenty of experience, ranging from corporate/commercial, to feature films, to music videos. I just wrapped a few corporate gigs to start the year, including interviews I gaffed for an Alzheimer’s Panel with NotSoldSeparately Media Company. Towards the end of last year, I was Gaffer for a pilot with Auffant Films called “Outside the Box”. Shortly before that I gaffed a web ad for UPS & Ferrari for Uptop Films. I have even gaffed for reality TV, for USA Network’s “Miz and Mrs.”
That experience aside, a lot of my work has been on the grip side. To finish out 2018, I was a grip on the largest crowd-funded project of all time, “The Chosen” TV Series. In between all the corporate gigs, I worked on 5 feature films in 2018, all in the grip department. Early in 2018, I was Key Grip for an indie feature called “No Loss//No Gain” (San Austin Productions). Before that, I was Key Grip for an indie feature called “Nana’s Secret Recipe” (Kinetik Films, LLC.). I was Dolly Grip for Shy Beast’s music video “Back With Me”. My first gig after moving to Austin was working on “The Iron Orchard” feature film as G&E Swing back in June/July 2017. On the more corporate side of things, I’ve created lighting set-ups for several online videos with companies like 3M, ONNIT (workout/yoga session videos), and Self Made Man. Also, I have experience with studio/green screen shoots for several commercials (for Comcast, SECU Credit Union, etc). Some samples of projects can be found here under Grip/Electric Work :https://www.behance.net/ danleon234ee83
