OUR TOWN by Kevin Wicker

“I was at a Burger King in downtown Lebanon, Tennessee one Sunday morning – which was across the street from a big beautiful church. As I sat there alone with my thoughts, I contemplated the scenario of Christ Himself in plain everyday clothes, wondering if anyone in that big church would ever recognize Him if He decided to attend that morning…what would happen..who’d believe Him. Suddenly this song came to me, as I wrote the song on a Burger King napkin. “The church we shot this at was an old slave church nearby. The building itself was leaning, so it was ready for demolition. This video helped raise money to restore it. Thankfully, a few months later, the town refurbished it and it stands today. The vibes in that place were very thick. You could sense the sorrow of a baby funeral, the celebration of love from wedded bliss, and the prayers of the old negro saints that went up together for 150+ years. It was at least 100 degrees in there. But the sacred atmosphere made you forget it. A day my crew and I will never forget. The video never made rotation, but it was showcased on CMT for a short time. “KW This video was produced by Kevin Wicker for Mark Nicolosi Productions. “OUR TOWN” Words and Music: Kevin Wicker c. 2011
