“Unturned” tells the story of Arjun, a man grappling with the consequences of his actions and a mysterious woman who seems both intrigued by his past and connected to him. This is my first short film—one I wrote, directed, produced, and shot within a span of 4 months. I aimed to start with a concept that was intriguing yet simple enough to execute with a small crew and cast.
Like any first project, it came with its share of challenges—mismatched audio due to issues with on-the-day recording, and focus-pulling that wasn’t always spot-on. The film was shot on my Fujifilm X-T200 camera and edited in DaVinci Resolve. Despite its imperfections, I’m proud to have pulled together the resources and seen this project through to completion. Having screened it at small film gatherings and shared it with family and friends, I received invaluable critical feedback—feedback that fuels me to make my next project shine.
