I was commissioned by Shanghai American School to produce a series of videos for their two campuses. The concept was to capture just one day in each division to show the diversity of all the activities and learning experiences that happen every day on campus. We had 5-7 cameras running around the campus as well as a few timelapse cameras installed to capture the activity of the students and faculty. Construction had already begun when I arrived in the city in 2009. The site was a large hole in the ground with construction crews milling around pouring concrete for the base. I began exploring the city looking for views and locations that would serve as groundwork for this video. This 3-year documentary project captured the construction and innovation behind Johnson Controls‘ Asia Pacific Headquarters in Shanghai.
