My name is Karan Lineswala. I was born in India and half brought up in the United States. My immigration to America during my most impressionable years of childhood weighs heavily on my perspective in life. Coming from a small town in India, I carry a distinctive experience of living in two different nations that are vastly different in values, culture, and every single aspect of life. This wide range of cultural upbringing has shaped me to be confident and fearless in voicing my views.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, I took a drastic initiative to pursue my dream of being a visual to portray my stories that were hidden under the rug for many years. To learn the craft of filmmaking, I pursued a master’s degree from SCAD (Savannah College of Arts and Design) and excelled with a 4.0 GPA. One of my short films, named A Crying Doll was selected and won as the Best Fiction Short from the 8th Annual Flamingo Film Festival 2021. Becoming a filmmaker requires being attentive to details, having clarity in thoughts, and being organized to a great extent.
