Charquican – An Immigration Documentary

My first venture into Documentary. I wanted to explore the larger discussion of immigration going on in the country at the time on the most personal level. We zoom in on Myriam, a Chilean immigrant, watching as she prepares a dish from her childhood and contemplates how the immigrant experience has stagnated and changed. I learned quite a bit from this experience. I can look back and see all of the things I would do differently here (shot selection, how it is lit, audio mixing, music selection). All the same, I am very happy with the lessons this taught me.
