My name is Millie Rose Heywood and I have over a decade of experience within the entertainment industry as a director, writer, producer and actor. I moved to Los Angeles from Australia in 2016 after winning the Green Card lottery to further pursue my career as a filmmaker and content creator.

I started my own production company Millie On Air Productions in 2014, to produce high-quality content with a strong female voice. I’ve directed, produced, written and edited several scripted projects, which have all enjoyed successful festival runs around the world.

My debut short film “Spirit Stones”, which I directed, produced and wrote, went on to receive critical acclaim as a finalist at Tropfest 2014, the world’s largest short film festival. My featurette “Girl Falling” had its Australian Premiere at Revelation Perth International Film Festival in July 2018 and was selected as a Programmer’s Favorite in the Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival 2018. It went on to have a highly successful festival run around the world.

I released web series “Retrograde” in 2021, which I directed, co-wrote and produced, which premiered at LA International Shorts Fest last year. I currently have two upcoming Australian feature films in development, coming-of-age drama “By the Fall” and Christmas comedy “Unwrapped”.

From August 2021 – February 2022 I worked as a Shooter Producer for IG Live Shopping with B17 Entertainment. I’m looking for freelance directing and producing roles while my feature projects are in development.

I’m an extremely motivated and hardworking individual, who will always take initiative and strives for excellence in everything that I do. I have extensive experience working both in front of and behind the camera, and one of my best skills is working with and directing talent. Being a self-taught director and producer I am used to being incredibly self-sufficient and understand all areas of production from pre to post.
