My 2022 Reel! I have a wide variety of experiences and am ultimately looking to build my portfolio. I've had the opportunity to work on videos in the small business, design, and adventure space. I have been passionate about videography from a young age and love helping people tell their stories. I started Sunset Video Co. in January of 2022, and look forward to building on my experience thus far.

This is Jason Ryan's 2016 narrative cinematography demo reel, featuring his work from feature films, short films, music videos and proof-of-concept videos. The main goal in Jason Ryan’s cinematography is to collaborate with the director to develop a look, compose shots and move the camera in a way that will best inform the subject material. “While the technical aspect of cinematography is very important, the artistic aspect is even more important,” says Jason. “The mark of a true professional is… View the Video
Here are some highlights of my video work in 2021. I worked in-house for Yukon Gear & Axle, a big brand in the off-road automotive industry. Most clips here are from 2021 shoots/videos with Yukon, which had no shortage of high energy events, product videos, etc.
I demonstrate the work I have done with motion graphics between 2019 and 2021. I have mainly showcased my final university projects, client commissions, and internship projects. I completed most of these projects in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.
This video was a personal project commissioned by Arriel Pilapil. I used audio the client had recorded herself and edited footage I retrieved from free stock footage websites. I added filters and transitions to the videos/images to make the video look like a journey told through home videos and scrapbook pictures. I worked on this video on my own time on my MacBook pro.
Award winner and festival favorite at the Chandler International Film Festival, In a World of Hurt takes on the story of a gender struggle in the old west when Sheriff Scarlet is fired from protecting the town of Sallow by its mayor, who’s scared that now isn’t the best time to have a woman protecting his town. Once the dreaded Aldritch gang hears that Scarlet no longer has her badge, they begin to plot their revenge for what Scarlet did… View the Video
Adavant had a new concept album coming out that tells the story of a group of renegade soldiers who flee from the cruel kingdom that once employed them. They set up camp on a cliffside and begin recruiting more soldiers for their troupe. This music video picks up shortly after the kingdom learns of the renegade’s hideout. The King sends an infiltrator in alone to Renegade Ridge, hoping for a reliable spy on the inside. Unfortunately for the king, the… View the Video
Verde Smiles was looking for a unique video that followed the story of one of their case studies. I drove up to Sedona and spent a few days with Logan Lee and his family. Logan told me he was addicted to speed and later meth at an unfortunately young age, and his mother told me that he no longer smiled due to the state of his teeth. Logan and his wife got themselves out of addiction by deciding to work… View the Video
The lighting setup was a bit complicated but purposeful. First, we used the practical LED lights strung around the room running at about 2700k to give a warm glow to the brown cabinets and old wood. Next, the 300D with the Light Dome II and a grid was used to key the bottle, hitting it pretty much straight on and mainly giving level and detail to the label. We did a few shots where this was faded up to give… View the Video
Julia and her marketing team reached out to me with a great concept for the first of a few music videos they wanted to develop for an upcoming EP. I really loved the music and Julia is a friend of mine so I was very excited to get to work with her team. The concept involved a self-destructive relationship told out of order, showing the good moments and the bad moments but overall evoking the feelings of a toxic relationship.… View the Video

This was a video I did recently for a very worthy organization, Folds of Honor. They raise money to provide educational scholarships to the families of wounded and fallen military heroes. Obviously, Mark Curtis was filmed in the Channel 12 studio and at a couple of the fund raising events but I was the Director/Editor on the project. I believe I accomplished the goal of explaining the organization, the need, and the worthy cause. This is a great organization and… View the Video
A reel listing a few projects from TV commercials to training videos at Walmart to a zombie movie. I did the TV commercials from end to end as a one-man video production department. The zombie movie was a pilot we shot and I was a camera operator. I prefer being part of a crew but can step up when needed. I also did all the editing on these project as well as motion graphics, color correction and color grading. I… View the Video
