From the smallest single media project to the biggest multimedia production, Galileo Media Arts nails it. - Guy Mastrion
Boston Video and Production Services
Boston Video Production – Galileo Media Arts all about telling your story. We are a full-service video production company who can work regionally, nationally and internationally from our Boston, MA and Albany, NY / Saratoga Springs studio locations. Whether it is a TV commercial or a long-format corporate video, we find that emotional connection and tell your story in a compelling way.
We have worked in short narrative formats, as well as long doc style formats, and have won several awards for our hard work in both. Having the capability to take projects from the beginning, including creative concept development and scripting, to final delivery makes us stand out among our video production competitors.
Video Production Boston: Production Company
Galileo is the sum total of many parts including: Directors, Producers, Editors, Writers, Animators and Cinematographers. We are award-winning filmmakers all working together to produce compelling video content. We offer our clients a full range of video production services from our two locations in Albany, NY / Saratoga Springs and Boston, MA. Our services range from creative concept development, script writing, motion graphics, special effects and sound design. Whether it be for corporate branding videos, TV commercials, inspirational videos or animated content, we have the tools and expertise to make it happen.
While many video production companies sub-contract or rent all their gear, we take pride in the fact that we own most of our gear and have the knowledge and experience to use it. Whether it be TV commercial, corporate branding production, medical/technical video content, post-production, motion graphics, special effects or just simply telling your authentic compelling story; we take a project from the raw beginnings to the final polished end all under one roof.
Pre-Production of Video Content
Every story has a beginning and pre-production is where it all starts. Concept development starts at this stage, as well as taking a great idea that just needs some sprucing. We like to find that emotional or inspirational kernel that lies at the heart of whatever we are working on and develop that in an honest and creative way.
We work with you to find what that north star is because nobody knows your brand better than you do. Once we all agree on the creative, we then can move on to the nuts and bolts. The more pre-production you do, generally, the more fun you have during the actual shoot. This all happens from our Boston and Albany /Saratoga Springs video production studio locations.
Production Services
Producing and Directing – On set the director and producer run the show so to speak. They make sure the creative is implemented and everyone there is doing their job and working as a team. The director is focused on getting the most out of the on-camera talent and total visual impact of the project. The producer is making sure everyone is doing their jobs and staying on schedule and under budget.
Shooting and Cinematography – We have award-winning cinematographers on staff. Many of our competitors hide the fact that they do not have crew on staff who are actually doing the production. They are sub-contracting all or most of the crew. We enjoy the process of knowing the right cameras, lenses and lighting for each job. We actually own the gear and have to rent very sparingly. This makes a big difference in our nimbleness and ability to scale down or up to your budget and needs.
Post-Production Services
Video Editing – One way to think of video editing is to compare it to a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. All the pieces are hopefully there but finding the right fit at the right time is where the art comes in. And sometimes the pieces are not all there and that is where the video editor really makes magic happen. The editor brings all the elements together to tell the story the way you want it told. Editors can add suspense or drama or humor, just at the right time, which will pull you in deeper to the story. The editing will often make or break any project. Sounds cliche but it is so true. The editor is tasked with choosing the right takes and timing that will make the audience compelled to watch. We will often do only editing for a project but rarely agree to do only shooting or production. Mostly because the edit is so important to every project and we want to have the control to make something really great.
Animation – Like anything else we do, it all starts with crafting your story. Once we have a script and before we even start animating, we develop a storyboard, or we are supplied a storyboard which we all agree on. This is a roadmap that that we follow throughout the process of animation. One thing about animation is you want to stick to the storyboard as much as possible to avoid overages on the budget. Animation shows up now in almost every piece of storytelling. Whether we are watching a video about health care and wellness, TV commercials for beverages, or even a long format video, we are leaning more and more on animation to keep us engaged in the story and not get bored. This is something that has been growing in the past 5 years or so and now we have come to expect it in almost everything we watch.
Motion Graphics – Keep it moving! Text and images that are stuck in one place are hard to keep our attention. Motion Graphics are any time you see a graphic or text slide, fade, wiggle, wag, jump, bounce, dance or move in anyway on the screen. Motion in general can change the way we feel about what is being shown and keep us engaged. Moving graphics around in a video is a part of animation that takes not just skill but artistry. We take pride in knowing the right style that fits every project so when we animate motion graphics it becomes a powerful tool whether it be for TV commercials, social campaigns or our longer format videos.
Audio Production and Sound Design – Galileo understands that sound design is one of the most important components to a successful video, animation, TV commercial or film. Our founder and principal, John Wager spent many years working in the audio world, winning several Grammys to boot. Galileo also has a state of the art recording studio on the premises. Galileo is very proud to have a world class recording studio with the best microphones, voice over booth, live sound room and sound design mixing room, all in-house. The ability to do all the sound in house and do it at the highest level can bring every project up a notch. We also have a composer on staff as well as an award winning audio mixing engineer.

"Converging from their respective productions to any convenient 24-hour diner, the crew would be found letting their creative energy out. Over coffee, each would talk through their love of film, on set experiences, and how they complimented the projects they had been working on. Finally, one particular cup of coffee would inevitably lead to Midnight Brunch’s inception. They had long found success on their own, but their continued conferences yielded a similar mission: to create unique content true to story and brand. Bringing together their wide range of experiences, as 2019 launched, so did Midnight Brunch. A group of independent filmmakers combining their different skill-sets and unique backgrounds to create a fresh perspective on content for their clients. The productions are dynamic, detail-oriented, and honest. Midnight Brunch is your collaborators and go-to people, leading clients and their projects to engaging and profitable payoffs. So, come grab a cup of coffee, the first one is on us, and let’s talk about how we can work together." Read more about Midnight Brunch…
